About

Veronica Hartman

Welcome.

If you don't find the information you need on these pages please contact me at: veronicahartmanlcsw@gmail.com

My experience to date has been with developing and adapting a trauma informed practice.

Having trained as a psychodynamic psychotherapist: what emerges from the past in the context of the therapeutic relationship is key to growth.   My practice is trauma informed and mindfulness centered.  I had my first clinical lessons and my first deeply human experiences as a professional therapist working with survivors of chronic trauma.  I continue to train and practice with a belief in the indomitable nature of the human spirit.

I am drawn to what information the body holds--your body holds.  I am asking clients to increase their awareness of  stress (internal and external) on their physical bodies--here we see the connection between thoughts, physical feelings, and emotions.

My work has been shifting and growing along with my life—and the coronavirus pandemic accelerated change.  I am noticing new strength as I focus on Transition and Intuition.

I am trained in many treatment modalities including EMDR, DBT, CPT, CBT, solution focused brief therapy, partner focused (conjoint) treatment for PTSD.  I have developed art and mindfulness programs and workshops wherever I have practiced; I believe in creativity as an essential part of the human soul.  I am a long time Taiji player and student of Qigong.  I am also a former student of American Studies and as such am keenly interested in the impact of culture on our thoughts and sense of, or beliefs about, what is possible.
